UPDATE ON THE VTCT FOUNDATION LEGACY PROJECT
As shared in our summer newsletter, one of the VTCTF Board priorities for the next year is to talk to members of the Appearance Collective about your challenges and priorities as organisations, to explore your ideas for the future of the Appearance Collective and how we can ensure access to the evidence-based resources that have been produced with funding from the VTCT Foundation. This is in the context of the VTCTF moving into its final legacy phase. We have now carried out 14 interviews, with 7 more planned for January. Thank you to all the organisations who have taken time out of their busy schedules to talk to us. Some interesting themes are emerging which we will share and discuss with you at our events over the coming year. If you would like to be interviewed for the project we would love to hear from you. VTCT FOUNDATION COMMUNICATIONS & CAMPAIGNS WORKSHOP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHANGING FACES
Date: 28th January 2025
Venue: NCVO, Society Building, 8 All Saints Street, London N1 9RL
Here at VTCT we passionately believe in the power of the voluntary sector to make a difference about the issues that matter to them. But to do that, people need to hear what we’re all about, and communications and campaigns are a vital part of that.
That’s why, on Tuesday 28th January, we are hosting a day-long Communications and Campaigns Workshop for members of the Appearance Collective, to be held in London. The workshop is for those in your organisation who have leadership and/or delivery responsibility for communications and campaigns and include topics such as strategy and planning, website development, making the most of social media, working with journalists, etc. And, of course, there’ll be plenty of time for the ever-important networking.
We’re really keen that the day truly meets your needs, so as part of the registration process (click here) you’ll see a short survey about what you want to get out of the workshop. We’ll then use what we hear to plan and deliver the workshop.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

NHS COLLABORATION: THE KEY TO ACHIEVING BETTER PATIENT OUTCOMES?
Whilst we have fostered a strong culture of collaboration amongst VTCTF’s Appearance Collective members over the years, one of the shared challenges discussed at this year’s London Showcase was how charities can best integrate their activities with the NHS and understand how they can bridge knowledge and fill gaps. We talked to two CEOs about this issue – Kate Naish from the Katie Piper Foundation and Karen Johnson from Facial Palsy UK. Read more here.
