The VTCT Foundation Annual Showcase

Join charity and research colleagues from across visible difference and hear the latest from The VTCT Foundation’s grant programme.

In the morning we will hear from the Centre for Appearance Research on Translating Visible Difference Research into Practice with a range of studies that focus on two work streams: Social Media and Visible Differences and Supportive Interventions for people impacted by visible differences (including those affected by burn injuries).

We will hear from the VTCT Foundation’s first Career Development Programme fellows at Oxford and Swansea University. Cynthia de Courcey from Swansea will present on the topic 3D Bioprinting Cartilage for Facial Reconstruction .

CLAPA will share their experience of Increasing fundraising capability in a visible difference charity.

Our afternoon session focus will be on equality, diversity and inclusion within the Appearance Collective.

Sessions will include:

Practical guidance on applying to the VTCT for grants with an EDI focus

Useful tips and experiences from leaders within the EDI field on becoming a more inclusive organisation. This will include a presentation by Head of EDI at Citizens Advice – Mandeep Rupra.

Discussion about how the lived experience of visible difference can be impacted by personal contexts

An update from a current grant holder working within the equality sphere .
